ISLAMABAD: The city fathers Saturday launched a project to beautify the underpasses of the federal capital currently giving a rigid look contrary to the clean and green image of Islamabad.
The Capital Development Authority had engaged dozens of the students coming from 15 educational institutions of the city who would adorn the sidewalls of underpasses through their paintings painting and art works.
The inauguration ceremony of the project was launched here at the Faisal Aveneu Underpass. Addressing the gathering, Member Engineering and Environment CDA Sanaullah Aman said the project was part of a strife to rectify the environment of Islamabad.
People from different segments of society including students from GSIS were present in large number on the event.
The Authority recently culminated its “Clean and Green Islamabad” campaign whereby CDA managed repair, maintenance and uplift of infrastructure of six sectors with along massive cleanliness work of the areas.
The event witnessed students of Global School Of Integrated Studies (GSIS) engaged in beautifying the concrete walls of the underpass at Faisal Avenue by their paintings and art work.
The students of other educational institutions including schools, college and universities of the Capital city will beautify other underpasses of the city.
Each educational institution will beautify one underpass with different themes and the CDA has already finalized detailed action plan with these institutions through meetings and consultations.
